Hi 12th Grade Parents, Buckle up....there's a lot going on and this email has it all (or most of it all, we hope!) As we collectively dash towards the end of the school year, we want to share a few quick dates, reminders and updates for your review. In addition to the specific event updates below (grouped by subject), please also scroll to the bottom of the email for a "Key Dates" listing to add to your calendars. Final Parent Cocktail Party: April 13thYes, we never thought we'd type these words, but it's true. Please join your friends at Cactus Cantina on April 13th, 7:00 - 9:00pm, for our last All Grade Parent Cocktail Party...a chance to celebrate that WE MADE IT and to commiserate before we send our kids off to the great unknown. Additional details to follow. Glen Echo Park Senior Party: May 13th In addition to Senior Celebration which is a Sidwell-sponsored graduation event, it has become somewhat of a tradition in the past few years for some of the parents of graduating seniors to host an off-campus, grade wide celebration event at Glen Echo Park. This year’s party will be held on Saturday May 13, and all parents and seniors are invited. This is not a Sidwell-sponsored or a Parent’s Association event. It is parent-sponsored, parent-organized, and parent-hosted; all costs are covered by voluntary contributions from parents in the Class of 2017. You can join in the fun by helping with specific party duties, such as decorations, food, finding a DJ, or putting together a slide show. OR if you want to get involved by making a financial contribution, that is great too! We happily accept any and all types of contributions! The budget is being finalized, but the costs of the party will be split among participating families, so we hope to have as many people involved as possible at any level that feels comfortable. We're working to include silly skits, songs, and slide shows. All parents will take the stage! The Class of 2017 Senior Celebration takes place on Saturday, June 3rd, from 6:00 - 9:00pm at the Kogan Arts Center. All senior parents are invited to join the second grade-wide meeting on Tuesday, March 14 at 7:00pm in the US Choral Room. Don't miss the opportunity to help make this a memorable celebration for the entire class of 2017. Currently, the hospital is treating over 1,400 kids with sickle cell disease and many, many more with chronicle illness. One unit of blood can help 4-5 children. Did you know that a newborn has approximately one tea cup of blood?Location: 3825 Wisconsin Avenue, NW– Washington, DC 20016When: March 1, 2017Time: 10:00 – 3:30pm and need volunteers to donate blood.Please register!
