Dear Parent/Guardian: This is to notify you that your student has received a complimentary ticket to a performance of Dead Man Walking, an opera by Jake Heggie that will be performed in the Kennedy Center Opera House the evening of Friday, March 3. The performance will be preceded by a backstage tour that has been arranged for Sidwell Friends students and by a pre-performance lecture about the opera. Because this is not an official school-sponsored event, we want to make sure that you and your daughter/son discuss and make arrangements for transportation to and from the Kennedy Center for that evening. Students should be present at the Kennedy Center at 5:45pm in order to participate in the backstage tour. The pre-performance talk begins at 6:30pm, and Dead Man Walking starts at 7:30pm.
