Hi, Hunter,

I don't know if you're still at this address, but thought I'd start here.
My mother died in February and I am arranging a "memory-all" in her honor on Saturday, June 7 at F. Scott's in Georgetown from 2 to 6. If I wanted to send an invitation to your father (and you, too, if you're interested!), what would be the best way to do it? I know it's a longshot, but as she was an old fan I know it would have made her happy. She kept both the picture you took of them at Chef Geoff's, and the official one he sent with a lovely invitation to the West Wing in her apartment at her assisted living in Georgetown.

My husband and I have appreciated his efforts in the Ukraine, as we are members of the Ivano-Frankivsk Sister City Association thru my work with the Arlington County Board.

My mother is still at Cherrydale rehab, and I think would be tickled to hear from your father.

Hello again,

My mom has had some health issues since you sent her this picture and she is now in a rehab center for a broken femur. The one thing she asked me to bring her was this picture of her and your dad from Chef Geoff's last year.

She's having some memory and behavior problems, made worse by the fall last week and the anesthesia, and is refusing to do physical therapy, which does not bode well for her logevity.

I know it would make a difference if your dad might send her a picture of himself --and any note about doing her PT! Her name and address is

As a matter of fact, just hours before she fell we were dining at Bonaparte's in Georgetown and chatting for a long time about books with one of your dad's new advisors, Jose Cerda. If you happen to have his e-mail address, he'd probably want to know about this, too. He didn't have his cards on him, but I have cc'd this to an old address I found online that may get to him.

Thanks for everything--I hope you don't feel I am too presumptuous, but my mom is a long-time fan of your father's and I know anything from him would really help.
