Not long ago, we introduced you to Chase, a very sick puppy who was taken into custody by Washington Humane Society-Washington Animal Rescue League Humane Law Enforcement. We are proud to report that yesterday morning Chase's former owner was arrested and charged with three counts of cruelty to animals. When rescued, Chase was barely able to lift his tiny head and clearly suffering, so he was rushed to a local veterinary hospital, Dogs and Cats Veterinary Referral and Emergency (DCVR), where he received extensive emergency care, including blood transfusions, intravenous fluids and medicine, and medical testing. Chase spent 12 days in intensive care, recovering from infections that had wracked his little body. Chase and Harper.jpg http://support.washhumane.org/site/R?i=a9hSaE5YJXE2Iwq0mVuPVA Because of your support, Chase is slowly improving, and has left the hospital for a medical foster home. He is still emaciated, weak, and missing most of his fur, but Chase is a fighter and we can already see his puppy spirit shining through the pain. Chase is a victim of cruelty and neglect, and our Humane Law Enforcement team worked hard to bring his abuser to justice. All injured animals deserve the love, care, and hope that Chase is receiving, thanks to the team at the Washington Humane Society/Washington Animal Rescue League. Please make a donation to Sophie's Fund for Emergency Medical Care http://support.washhumane.org/site/R?i=_cztGPR2h3YvSJ2Xqldoig and help give that opportunity. clickheretoDonate_redcc0000.jpg http://support.washhumane.org/site/R?i=0wnORycQAqlD86GIujgrZg Tri Chase Bottom Bar.jpg http://support.washhumane.org/site/R?i=cxO-I_vWBX0HPm_5RazwCQ What is Sophie's Fund? Sophie's Fund for Emergency Medical Care allows us to provide animals like Chase with critical, specialized medical care that is urgently needed. Every day, the WHS/WARL team has to make instantaneous, urgent decisions about the needs of animals with complicated medical conditions. Having resources available in Sophie's Fund allows us to provide advanced emergency medical attention for animals who come into our care with injuries and conditions that require specialized treatment at our clinic and in area veterinary hospitals. Unfortunately, Sophie's Fund is depleted regularly to help the many injured animals we take in through our doors. Thanks to your generosity, the reinvigorated Sophie's Fund can help future animals in need without hesitation.
