This event will feature a conversation with authors Andrew Albertson and Ashley Moran, who will outline the case for prioritizing fragile states and investing in crisis prevention. In the wake of 9/11, the United States significantly expanded its focus on the links between state weakness in the developing world and threats to U.S. security. The U.S. government has developed new strategies to aid poor but well-governed states and to coordinate reconstruction efforts in the wake of conflicts. But far more efforts are needed to respond to fragile countries on the brink of crisis. This launch event will present the first in a series of four briefs that seek to improve our understanding of and response to state fragility. The project will also propose a number of actionable policy options for addressing fragility in partner states. Please save the date on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 at the Truman Project HQ offices (1250 Eye Street NW, Suite 500) in Washington, D.C. The event will begin at 12:30 PM and lunch will be served. http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=97306188a4d2b2da867fe25f80290ae58a3423af6f2715a89d45d7561e036ac2 Please RSVP here.
