A Food Truck for the Poor

Last month, St. Maria's Meals Food Truck made its debut at our weekly dinner service at 924 G St., NW. The food truck, which was donated and outfitted thanks to support from the Clark-Winchole Foundation and Poor Roberts Foundation, will help take our meal service to the homeless and low-income on the road. Starting next month, the truck will begin serving breakfast out in Prince George's County and will continue to deliver hot dinners every Wednesday in downtown DC.

130 Pairs of New Shoes Given Away As First Snow of the Year Falls

Last month, as part of our Christmas Dinner for the Homeless, we were able to give out "coupons" for a free pair of shoes and socks, to be picked out at a later date. This came thanks to the generousity of Jim and Cece Koons, and Koons Toyota, and we worked in partnership with the Payless Shoesource on 11th and G St., NW. On January 6 and 7, we went shopping with 130 men and women who needed a new, dry pair of shoes just as the first snow of the year was falling.
