60th Anniversary Seattle Event- Many Thanks!

Thank you to all the many hands that made our 60th Anniversary Seattle Event such
a joyous success! We had more than 350 current and former Jesuit Volunteers and
JV EnCorps members, staff, board members, Jesuits, friends, and family members attend
and raised over $120,000 dollars to support current and future volunteer efforts
to serve vulnerable communities and environments across the Northwest. An especially
heartfelt thanks to our Seattle Steering Committee and our generous sponsors: Liz

The Business Manager is responsible for the business operations of Jesuit Volunteer
Corps Northwest; all accounting functions; fiscal policy management; organization
and preservation of files and records; IT administrator oversight; tasks associated
with human resources; fiscal management of all grants including AmeriCorps grant;
payroll oversight; property management oversight; and supervision of the Accounting
Assistant and Business Assistant. The Program Coordinator supports and challenges
22-28 full-time Jesuit Volunteers/AmeriCorps members living in intentional communities
and serving with people who are on the margins of society. For more information

A Historic Year and a New JV Community

Who can you invite to apply?
The 2016-17 service year is a historic time to be a Jesuit Volunteer: this August,
over 150 Jesuit Volunteers will embark on the 60th year of Jesuit Volunteer service
in the Northwest. We also plan to reopen a JV community this year in Woodburn, OR!
Please invite potential JVs to apply to ensure we can fill this new community! Whether

The coming months are filled with excitement, sadness, uncertainty, celebration,
and goodbyes for our Jesuit Volunteers as they transition from JV communities to
new opportunities across the globe! JVC Northwest wants to honor these JVs with
well wishes letters, postcards, and notes from our large network of former volunteers,
friends, and family- but we need your help! Consider sending a community (perhaps
even the community where you served) a quick note of celebration, advice for the

Autobiography of Jack Morris, SJ now available
Barb Scharff (JVC Northwest Board '09-16) recently published the autobiography of
Fr. Jack Morris, SJ, co-founder of the Jesuit Volunteer movement. His autobiography
explores his faith-filled life from his childhood in Montana through his formation
as a Jesuit, and his work with the Jesuit Volunteer movement, the Bethlehem Peace

From Mission to Mission Re-Entry Workshops

From Mission to Mission seeks to help returned missioners and volunteers live mission
here in their home culture, in a way that honors those to whom they have said goodbye.
Their workshops are for domestic and international volunteers and missioners from
any program, university, diocese, etc. Former volunteers can attend our workshop
in the months or even years after completing their term of service. The workshop
is not just for those who recently finished their service. Catholics on Call - Young Adult Conference
August 3-6, 2016, Chicago, IL
Every summer, Catholics on Call hosts a four-day program at Catholic Theological
Union (CTU) in Chicago. This experience is designed for women and men (ages 18
to 30) who may be thinking about a life of service in the Church as a lay minister,
religious sister or brother, or priest, and those who are undecided and want guidance
in determining how God is calling them. Catholic Volunteer Network Discernment Retreats
Catholic Volunteer Network now hosts discernment retreats for current volunteers
and alumni who are contemplating their next steps. Join CVN for a weekend retreat
and enjoy the opportunity to get away from the busyness of life and join with others
in the spirit of discernment. These retreats are made available free of charge thanks
to the support of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Travel stipends are also available.

In 2015, Pat Costigan (St. Mary's, AK '72-73) published GRACE: The Words of Pope
Francis Inspiring the Paintings of Pat Costigan. Each painting was inspired by
Pope Francis' words. The proceeds from the sale of the book are being donated to
the Working Boys Center in Quito, Ecuador. The book, and professional giclee prints

Barb Scharff (JVC Northwest Board '09-16) recently published the autobiography of
Fr. Jack Morris, SJ, co-founder of the Jesuit Volunteer movement. Barb will be selling
