At such a busy time of year, we wanted to make sure that everyone has the
information you need regarding two upcoming events.

11th parent gathering at Cactus Cactina, 3300 Wisconsin Ave. NW.

2) We have been asked to forward the following message from Sherri
Cafritz, our 11th Grade Prom Committee Representative.


Prom is less than two weeks away!


We thought we would fill parents in on all the details. Some info may not
have come home with the students!


Invitations were posted on students lockers two weeks ago and an e-mail sent
to students and parents with the instructions to register and pay for the
prom, with instructions on bringing a check to Susannah Parker or Cindy
Sealls offices. Deadline was Friday, May 13 but we will extend that until
early this week for those who haven't registered/paid yet.


An e-mail is going out to students on today, May 16th, with a signup genius
asking them to identify a group of 6 (or 3 couples) that they would like to
sit with during the prom dinner. We will do our best to accommodate sitting
with those six. They can also identify a second group of six that they would
like to sit with. These requests must be made by Friday, May 20th.


E-mails have also gone out to parents asking for volunteers. Please try and
volunteer if you can! It is a fun evening which cannot take place without
parent participation.

The Itinerary for the evening:


8- 8:15 pm: Students meet at Sidwell. They board buses chaperoned by
teachers, and they are taken to The Four Seasons. The students should each
bring a change of clothing because the post prom takes place at the hotel
too (Prom swag is a long sleeved t-shirt which they can put on for post
prom).


8:30-8:45: Check in at the Four Seasons


8:30-9:30: Mocktail hour (drinks, appetizers, etc). The photo booth is open
for students to take pictures. A parent photographer will also be there to
take additional photos.


9:30-midnight: Dinner and dancing in the Four Seasons ballroom. The students
will have a full family style dinner. DJ entertainment.


Midnight: Students will change into casual clothes. The prom committee will
distribute Prom Swag.


Midnight - 2:00 am: Post prom! Dessert will be served. There will be lots
of entertainment ( casino, ping pong, foosball, etc), as well many great
prizes given out during the raffle.


2:00 am: Students get back onto the buses chaperoned by parents, and they
are brought back to Sidwell.
