Dear Parents:To date, Sidwell Friends’ use of text messaging has been largely limited to weather- or emergency-related situations. This year, however, we will be sending texts in support of our November 16 Annual Giving Day.As you can imagine, in today’s mobile society it is increasingly difficult to reach people with “phonathons.” As a result, this year we will be supporting our hard-working volunteers’ calls with texts. On that day, you may receive a text message asking you to consider a gift to the Sidwell Friends Annual Fund.We are giving you this advance notice so you don’t immediately assume that a text from Sidwell Friends is an emergency communication! But the text on November 16 is still an important one, because the support you provide to the Annual Fund is essential to the School’s operations.
