The 2013 Inauguration is fast approaching. I will be coordinating
logistics for the Vice President and Dr. Biden's closest friends and family
who are planning to attend and look forward to working with you to make
this an enjoyable weekend for you. The Presidential Inaugural Committee is
in the process of finalizing details for the official inaugural events. In
keeping with the precedent set by previous second inaugurals, this
Inauguration will be smaller in scale than the historic ceremony 4 years
ago.

I will be sending regular updates as details are confirmed. On Friday, I
hope to provide you with more specific information regarding hotels,
transportation, ticketing and credentials. A room in our hotel block will
be made available for you to reserve. There will be a 4-night minimum.
Rates are still being negotiated.

I know many of you are anxious to make your travel arrangements so if you
have specific questions before you are in receipt of Friday's email, please

meantime, here are some basic details to assist you as you begin to think
about your plans.

The key official inaugural events will be held January 19 through 22 that
are confirmed include:

*Saturday, Jan. 19*
National Day of Service
Children's Concert

*Sunday, Jan. 20*
Private Swearing In of the Vice President - in keeping with requirements of
the Constitution, the VP will be sworn in by noon on Sunday, Jan. 20th in a
private ceremony. This follows the tradition for Inaugurations that have
taken place in years when Jan. 20 falls on a Sunday.

*Monday, Jan. 21*
Church service at St. John's
Swearing In Ceremonies at the Capitol
Inaugural Parade
Inaugural Ball

*Tuesday, Jan 22*
National Prayer Service

PLEASE LET ME KNOW as soon as possible and no later than this Wednesday,
December 12 if you are planning to travel to DC for the Inaugural weekend,
who else from your immediate family is planning to attend and if you
anticipate needing to make a hotel room reservation within our block and if
so, how many rooms or any other special requests for your room type, etc.
