We recognize that our performance over the summer was too often not what our customers expect, nor was it what we want to deliver to you. We have taken aggressive actions to improve our operations, including adding spare aircraft, significantly increasing the maintenance touchpoints for our aircraft and better allocating spare parts inventory around the system. We are already seeing much stronger performance and finished the month of September above our DOT on-time arrival goal. We are adding brand new aircraft, investing in our onboard and ground products and customer experience, and improving our systems to serve you better. In addition to updating you on our operational improvements, today we are pleased to highlight some recent enhancements to our website and our fleet. <div style="font-size:12px;"> </div> <strong>Know the status of your upgrade request</strong> <div style="font-size:5px;"> </div> Now, when you log in to your account on united.com and view a reservation, you can see whether you are eligible for an upgrade, including a Complimentary Premier Upgrade. If your reservation already includes an upgrade request, the page will display whether the request is pending or confirmed. Our reservations and customer service agents are able to see this information as well. <div style="font-size:8px;"> </div> Also, we are enhancing our systems to give you the ability to request a Global Premier Upgrade, Regional Premier Upgrade or MileagePlus Upgrade Award within 24 hours of your flight. Due to differences in airport systems, we have to roll out this functionality in phases. Currently our gate agents can handle these requests at most larger domestic airports and select international ones. When this functionality is in all our airports, either a gate agent or a United Club agent will be able to handle your request. <div style="font-size:8px;"> </div> And once you have checked in for your flight, you can see where you are on the upgrade list by using our mobile app, or logging in to either united.com or mobile.united.com . Please note that the list displays only upgrade-eligible customers who have checked in for the flight.
