Hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Relative to our meeting on Thursday attached is a short brochure that briefly explains the project. Dr. Ali Maher and his brother, Ebi, will be with me. Ali is the Director of Rutgers University's Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) and formerly served as Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering at Rutgers. CAIT, in conjunction with USDOT Federal Highway Administration, has developed a robot for assessing the status of bridge decks. This robot was rolled out Monday in a test attended by FHWA Mendez and several highway officers from around the country. The demonstration was highly successful and there is tremendous interest in these robots from a variety of domestic and international sources (Note: also has airport runway applications).
