Grants cannot be made via email, so DonorCentral® is a great online option. Try it today as you make your year-end gifts! Review detailed descriptions of all DCF scholarships in the Delaware Community Foundation Scholarship Compendium (https://www.delcf.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/DCF_Scholarship_Compendium_2019-20.pdf) and apply online (https://www.delcf.org/scholarships/) . For Nonprofits We are upgrading our grants application process to a new system that will integrate directly with GuideStar (https://www.guidestar.org/Home.aspx) . Please make sure your GuideStar profiles are updated so you'll be ready when the next grant cycle is announced early next year! There's Still Time to Give in Tax Year 2018! Straight through midnight on Dec. 31, you can make a tax-deductible gift through the DCF… even if the office is closed! You may give by: Credit Card Complete your transaction by 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 31. You can: * Give to the DCF Friends Campaign (https://www.delcf.org/friends2019/) . * Give to an existing fund (https://www.delcf.org/give/) at the DCF. * Establish a new charitable fund (https://www.delcf.org/donations/newfund/) . If the DCF office is closed, we can still accept your gift for the 2018 tax year and complete paperwork to establish the new fund in 2019. Check Mail and postmark your check by Dec. 31. Stock Our brokerage house must receive instructions from your broker by 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 31. For assistance, contact Joan Hoge-North (mailto:jhoge-north@delcf.org) at 302.504.5224 in advance, to allow time for the DCF to coordinate with your broker. Other Non-Cash Assets The DCF accepts many illiquid assets as charitable gifts. The amount of time needed to accept these gifts varies. To discuss the possibilities, contact Joan Hoge-North (mailto:jhoge-north@delcf.org) at 302.504.5224. Fundholders: Make Your Year-End Grants To make a grant recommendation from your donor advised fund, log in to DonorCentral® (https://edonorcentral.com/login_0196.asp) or use this form (https://www.delcf.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/DCFGrantRecommendationForm_web.pdf) . Grants are typically processed on the first and 15^th of each month. In December, checks are issued more frequently. If a grant recommendation is submitted before Dec. 20, checks will be mailed and postmarked by Dec. 31. If a grant recommendation is submitted after Dec. 20, we will do everything we can to issue funds by the end of the year. Please remember, fundholders do not realize a tax benefit when grants are issued from existing charitable funds, so issuance after Dec. 31, 2018 will not affect 2018 taxes. Fund for Women Grant Writing Workshop The Fund for Women (https://www.delcf.org/ffw) 's 2019 grants application will be available on Jan. 1, 2019. https://www.delcf.org/ffw To prepare to put your best foot forward, participate in the FFW grant writing workshop at 4 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 19, at Brandywine Library, 1300 Foulk Road, Wilmington. Grants Available from DCF Youth Philanthropy Boards Delaware nonprofit organizations are invited to apply for grants (https://www.delcf.org/grants) from the Delaware Community Foundation (DCF) Youth Philanthropy Boards (YPB). The Kent and Sussex County boards will award $10,000 each. The New Castle County board will award $15,000. Applications must be submitted by Jan. 1, 2019.
