Biden to visit National Parks next week By Lisa Rein The Obama administration seems to have a new-found love for National Parks: Vice President Biden will head to Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon next week to check on stimulus-funded projects that are putting more than 1,000 people to work, the White House said. On Monday, the vice president will visit Yellowstone, in Wyoming, where he will deliver remarks to parks workers. On Tuesday he is scheduled to speak at Hopi Point on the south rim of Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. About $25 million from the $862 billion stimulus went to jumpstarting 800 construction and maintenance projects in national parks that had previously been deferred, the White House said. Biden's visits follow the Obama family's recent trip to Acadia National Park in Maine. The first family vacationed at Yellowstone last summer. No word on whether Biden plans to wear long pants or shorts -- which, depending on the national park, can be an issue this time of year. Eric D.
