If you have not yet registered, it is not too late. Please head to the <a href="http://support.hydroassoc.org/site/TR?fr_id=1180&pg=entry" target="_blank">National Capital WALK page</a> to register today!</p> <p> Let us explain why we have moved the WALK back one day to Sunday, September 17th. We hope this does not cause problems for too many and we also hope that for those that could not attend on Saturday, that you can join us now on Sunday!</p> <p>We did not take this late notice change lightly. We learned, as some of you may have, too, that there would be two other events near to our WALK on Saturday the 16th that we felt could jeopardize the safety of our WALKers. Here are links to information about the other two rallies scheduled for Saturday: <a href="http://www.motherofallrallies.com" target="_blank">Mother of All Rallies</a> and <a href="https://www.juggalomarch.com" target="_blank">The Juggalo March</a>. </p> <p>We talked with the National Park Service and Park Police as well as a handful of Team Captains to get input into our decision. We hope that the events on the 16th go as their organizers plan and that nothing violent or disruptive happens, but we cannot guarantee this. <span>The health and welfare of our community comes first</span>, so we thought it prudent to move our WALK date. </p> <p>We have also changed the time of the event to the afternoon. The Navy Half Marathon will take place the morning of the 17th, with a number of road closures around the Mall, making it difficult for many of you to drive or metro into our venue. So, our 2017 National Capital WALK to End Hydrocephalus will now take place from 12:30 - 4PM on Sunday, September 17th. </p> <p>We know that this may not be an ideal day and time for some of you, but we hope that with a month's notice you can adjust weekend schedules to come down and celebrate our amazing community. If you are now unable to attend, don't let that deter you from continuing to raise funds to help us meet our WALK goal of $85,000. We are only half way there. We need everyone's help to get across the finish line!</p> <p>If you are a registered Team Captain, you should have received an email with instructions for including your poster in Ambassador Avenue, our walkway highlighting our loved ones living with hydrocephalus. You do not need to be present to have your poster displayed.
