R.Hunter: When we talk about "undocumented" Dreamers, we're talking about millions of children and young adults who share many of the experiences, hopes and aspirations of every other kid in the neighborhoods they call home. They include little girls who are learning how to add and subtract in their elementary schools, young boys who spend mornings playing on jungle gyms at their local parks, and kids who are packing up to start college in Delaware and across the country.

Right now, the GOP is threatening to upend those children's lives by eliminating DACA - the critical program that protects many of these Dreamers from deportation. If Republicans are successful, kids who came to the U.S. as young children could be removed from their homes, pulled from their college campuses and deported to countries they often can't remember.

Time and again on the campaign trail, Donald Trump threatened to end DACA if he were elected president. Now, Republican attorneys general from across the country are gearing up to sue the administration if the president doesn't take the next step toward ripping these children and young adults from their homes.

It is sickening that these Republicans are prioritizing partisan politics over the lives of millions of Dreamers. I am counting on this team to fight back against these attempts to end DACA and deport Dreamers.

Eliminating DACA wouldn't just be morally reprehensible - it'd be a fiscal disaster as well: Ending the program could cost our country hundreds of billions of dollars in lost economic growth in the next decade alone.

There is no excuse, no rationale, to justify reversing a policy that threatens to upend the lives of those brought to the United States as young children, who pose no threat and who are proud to call this country home. That is why I'm going to continue speaking out against this threat - and on behalf of Dreamers - every chance I get. Please, join me on the front lines of this critical fight.
