In five days, President Obama will address the nation and lay out his agenda for America in the 2014 State of the Union.

Before he enters the House chamber, I want to share with you my top priorities for Delaware and the United States for the coming year, and hear what you think.

My priorities are simple--a stronger economy, education equality and safer communities.

I believe that Congress needs a renewed focus on jobs and American workers, and I will continue to pursue effective ways for creating economic opportunity, like repairing crumbling infrastructure and returning manufacturing jobs to American soil. I won't stop fighting to restore unemployment benefits to jobless Americans facing tough times.

We must also step back and take a look at the big picture. America needs to increase its attention to and investment in education. By ensuring every child has every opportunity to succeed, we are giving America the best chance to compete in the global economy.

There are countless other issues that Congress should and will address in the coming year. I'm curious to hear what you think of my top three priorities and what other issues you think should be a focus this year.
