> Subject: Operation Coming Home
>
> Hi everybody
>
> In the past I have shared with all of you news about an organization which
> is run through our homebuilders association, called Operation Coming Home.
> For the 8th time in the past 7 years, a wounded vet and his family received
> a free home today, compliments of the Raleigh HBA, many tradesmen and,
> today, Pulte Homes.
>
> Today's recipient was a marine combat engineer who lost his leg to an IED in
> Afghanistan in 2012. "Corporal Jack" as he is called has a wife and a
> little girl. The home is located in the town of Fuqua-Varina which is about
> halfway between Fort Bragg and Raleigh so there is a growing military
> presence there.
>
> Today being 9/11, the ceremony took on added meaning. And we were honored
> to have our governor Pat MCrory in attendance to hand over the keys to the
> home.
>
> As a very special treat, Vice President Biden called during the ceremony to
> congratulate Jack - very great of the VP to do that. And as a testament as
> to the kind of man Biden is, and in support of how Jill and Todd have
> described him, Biden had hosted Jack and his family at the Biden household
> for Thanksgiving last year. And on the phone he once again invited Jack
> and his family over for this upcoming Thanksgiving.
>
> The attached photo shows some women dressed like the Andrews Sisters,
> performing a medley of US songs. With a Carolina blue sky and 150 marines
> from Jack's company in attendance, it was the perfect way to start the day.
