The Hyman approach is more cancer oriented with the addition of nutria-therapeutics. We just don't want them to go over broad with too many overlapping supplements. I will send me the pathology and mutations list and see what he will recommend. Al W. K. Hyman's approach is different from Ornish. Ornish focus maily in nutrition and life style change. Hyman will use many so called nutria-therapeutics which is mainly supplements or alternative herbal medicine. He has made suggestion for many already, he will add more after I send him the molecular profile because he will add more that will cater to the molecular alterations. They think many nutria-therapeutic or supplements could target the effect of the molecular changes. 2. I am always open to supplements and alternative medicine because I know what we have in academic medicine and what they can offer. I work with several groups like Hyman before on other patients. So I know many of the supplements they use. My concern is the pseudo-science behind the rationale of the supplement because they are not tested. So my principle is to do no harm. As long as the number of pills is not excessive and not obvious interaction with the main stream therapy, I am OK. 3. I am a little concerned of the write up and flashy pictures of Jeanne Wallace. The data is too good. 4. I will send him the pathology and the molecular profile after I leave the hospital tomorrow, and wait to see his recommendation, we can discuss further. I talk to Jon Glass, he will send me the next lab result. If it look good, I will talk to you about add interferon injection into the regimen to boost the immunity and to reduce inflammation. I have used it in many of my patients. I am doing fine so far with my chemotherapy. Have a good weekend. Al W. K. Attached are a number of documents and slide decks from Jeanne Wallace about her work with over 1200 brain tumor and 500 GBM patients. Here is her website http://www.nutritional-solutions.net/index.php/about-us The plan as we discussed today is as follows. 1. Get the records from Dr. Yung on the genetics and pathology of the tumor now. He will send them to me. 2. Order basic labs to be done at home next week. HOWARD - please see the lab order sheet you can use to order the tests locally at Labcorp that we need to get started. 3. Connect with Jeanne next week to review the diet plan and the basic supplements to start. Attached is the Planner for Beau and basic diet handouts to get started with a the basic diet and a few supplements. The instructions for ordering them are included. 4. Come see me in MA to do further diagnostic testing (ideally Sept 22nd in the morning or the 19th in the morning). Please let me know if that works. If not we can make another time. 5. Once we get the data we will review the plan and make adjustments. 6. Then we can add in other innovative treatments such as GcMAF or cannabis oil. I would suggest that I have a talk with Beau and Hallie over Skype this weekend if possible to review all of this. Thank you for letting us be a part of your care. Be well, Mark PS I don’t have Beau or Hallie’s email or cell - if you can forward this to them that would be great and share their contact info with me. ------------------ Mark Hyman, MD Director, Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine Founder and Medical Director The UltraWellness Center Chairman, Institute for Functional Medicine 55 Pittsfield Road, Suite 9 Lenox Commons Lenox, MA 01240 (413) 637-9991 mark@drhyman.com<mailto:mark@drhyman.com> www.drhyman.com<http://www.drhyman.com/> Follow me: Facebook<http://www.facebook.com/drmarkhyman> Twitter<https://twitter.com/#!/markhymanmd> Linked In<http://www.linkedin.com/in/drhyman> Confidentiality Notice: This e-mail message and any attachments from The UltraWellness Center are confidential and for the sole use of the intended recipient.
