The start of another election year also reminds us that the clock is ticking on protecting voter rights, following this summer's unfortunate Supreme Court decision to weaken existing protections.

That's why I am supporting a new bicameral, bipartisan update of the Voting Rights Act that aims at protecting modern day voters from today's electoral challenges--like voter ID laws and voter roll purges.

My steadfast support of voting rights and other core Democratic values only stands to rile up the far-right extremists who desperately want to wrestle control of the Senate away from Democrats.
