All,

I know school just started, but I wanted to pass along information regarding the next phase, high school, for the girls. Several of you have expressed interest in learning about potential options for high school. This is the time of year where you should begin the process of scheduling "shadow visits" for your daughter. A shadow visit is when they would spend a day at the prospective school getting to know what a school day is typically like at a private school of their interest. In order to schedule a shadow visit, you will need to contact the schools admissions department. You also may be able to select those dates online without the need to contact the school directly. Secondly, if you decide to apply, you should connect with the basketball coach at the school of choice to let them know that your daughter is interesting in playing basketball during her tenure at the school. I can also be of help with this part if you need it.

Lastly, for those of you considering attending a Catholic school, the HSPT, High School Placement Test, is the assessment test used by the Catholic schools in our area. This test must be taken. The admissions department will evaluate how well your daughter performs on the test and the better they perform on the test, there could be opportunities for academic scholarships or assistance as well. That is, solely, based upon how the school's admissions department works as all schools are different.

If any of you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks.
