Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that the Board of Directors will be working to institute new initiatives to drive innovation and increase the adoption of clean energy and energy efficiency in Connecticut. In the words of Governor Malloy, "This group will work to more aggressively expand the state's opportunities to improve energy efficiency and renewable energy usage through more flexible methods, helping Connecticut maintain its position as a leader in clean energy. Their work will help strengthen Connecticut's economy, protect community health, improve the environment, and promote a secure energy supply for the state." Reed is looking forward the new position and notes that he is "honored to work with the fine group of distingished invididuals named to the CEFIA Board. Together and under the leadership of Commissioner Esty and Governor Malloy we will use innovative and comprehensive measures to ensure that the market for clean energy investments in the state of Connectut is robust, stable and secure." The first regular meeting of the CEFIA board is scheduled for Thursday, September 29th 2011 at 1:00pm ET. _About the Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority (CEFIA)_ CEFIA was created by the Connecticut General Assembly in 2011. It is the successor organization to the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund. CEFIA’s mission is to promote, develop and invest in clean energy and energy efficiency projects in order to strengthen Connecticut’s economy, protect community health, improve the environment, and promote a secure energy supply for the state. CEFIA is governed by an 11-member board of directors appointed by the governor and the leadership of the State Legislature. As the nation’s first full-scale clean energy finance authority, CEFIA will leverage public and private funds to drive investment and scale up clean energy deployment in Connecticut.
