Great Prostate Cancer Challenge 5K Coming Sunday, September 25, 2011 We are celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge 5K! We are returning to Towson University, Johnny Unitas Stadium. Last year, we received some feedback and we LISTENED. While we cannot guarantee SUNSHINE, we guarantee: CASH PRIZES and Newton Running Shoes for this year's top three male and female winners along with the overall runner winning the crystal Founder's Cup Long-sleeve technical t-shirts to first 1,500 participants Better signage Less pre-race ceremonies More post-race entertainment Sunday, September 25th - Great Prostate Cancer Challenge 5K/1 Mile Fun Walk Sunday, September 25th - Great Prostate Cancer Challenge 5K/1 Mile Fun Walk at Towson University Johnny Unitas Stadium to raise funds for prostate cancer research, awareness and screenings. Top overall runner receives the crystal Founders Cup and $375. Top t hree male and female runners each receive $375, $250 and $125 respectively and Newton Running Shoes. Performance medals are also given to top performers in each age group. Warm-up by Brick Bodies. Post-race activities include the Ravens cheerleaders, vendors, free food and beverages, musical entertainment and childrens activities including face painting, a moon bounce and costumed characters. Students are eligible to receive community service hours with pre-approval from schools Service Learning Coordinator. Join The Great Prostate Cancer Challenge For A Day Of Golf With The LPGA Monday, October 17th- Great Prostate Cancer Challenge Baltimore Golf Classic Join the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge (GPCC) at Towson Golf and Country Club in Phoenix, Maryland for a day of golf, dining and camaraderie featuring LPGA professionals and local Baltimore celebrities as we raise funds for prostate cancer research, awareness and screenings. LPGA Professionals currently golfing for prostate cancer include Barbara Mucha, Kristin Tamulis, Stephanie Louden, Kathleen Ekey and Baltimore's own Stephanie Connelly. The event includes a driving range clinic with L PGA pros, lunch, 18 holes of golf in a scramble format, dinner with one-hour open bar, prizes and commemorative tee gifts. The day begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch and driving range clinic, shotgun start at 1 p.m. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. The GPCC was founded by in 2007 by Chesapeake Urology Associates, the area's largest urology practice with 15 offices and 14 surgical centers throughout the Baltimore/Metro area. Since 2007, GPCC-Baltimore has raised more than $1,000,000 for prostate cance r research, awareness and screenings. Part of these funds has been used to provide more than 3,700 free screenings to men in need in the Baltimore area.
