the smart grid for Consumers Energy in Michigan. This represents, by
far, the largest IOU to choose a cellular-based solution for an
entire system rollout - approximately 1.8 million electric customers.

Consumers Energy evaluated and tested various technologies for more
than four years and objectively chose our cellular model. This trend
should only continue now that the industry is recognizing that it is
more efficient and less expensive to utilize existing cellular
networks for smart grid communications.
