As part of the 7th grade curriculum students take a Quakerism and the Arts class. During this class students conduct research in the Sidwell Friends Archives, learning about a social movement of American History and how it pertains to the Quaker Testimonies of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, and Stewardship. Visits to the Archives are supervised by either a teacher or a parent. Any parent who would like to accompany a 7th grade class at one of the following times should please contact Cynthia Ogden (cynthiaogden@comcast.net ) or Ira Apfel (ira.apfel@gmail.com). It is a great opportunity to learn more about Quakerism as well as to get an inside look at 7th graders in action!
