<div>I hope you are all off to a good start to your Spring Break!</div>
<div>I saw a few of you last night when you picked up the girls, but I wanted to follow up about our trip...</div>

<div>One would think that a broken radiator hose (on a brand new bus) to start our trip was foreshadowing. After we switched busses, we had a fun trip down, but we played poorly against a very strong Robinson team, losing 16-0. After a good dinner, we found that the hot water broke at our hotel. The next morning, the hits kept coming. We went down 9-1 in the 1st half against Norfolk Academy. Then something happened --we don't know where it came from, or how it started, but the coaches saw something emerge. There was a fire, a resistance to continue getting beat, a new attitude. We started winning draws, we scored 7 goals to their 8 and although we lost, there was no doubt we had unleashed the team that we have been waiting to see. </div>

<div>We had a great lunch together, and then headed to Cape Henry for our final game. Maybe it was the shirley temples, maybe it was the dance off in the bus, maybe it was the coaches jumping into our shuttles during warm-ups...but something happened. The girls started yelling, firing eachother up, smacking sticks and a new motto was born on the spot -- we knew they were ready! We won the 1st draw, scored the 1st goal and went on to win 9-5 against the host school. Multiple times the coaches looked at eachother in disbelief and thought where in the world is this coming from?</div>

<div>I've always believed that winning demonstrates ability, and defeat demonstrates character. We were all down after losing to Robinson, but we came together, battled through adversity, and emerged stronger than I thought possible. Your girls have heart and great attitudes and it was <em>exactly</em> the reason for the trip!</div>

<div>Thank you all for contributing to this as I am positive this will carry over into the rest of our season. </div>
