Sen. Bernie Sanders won Idaho's Democratic caucuses on Tuesday night, handing him a much-needed win in a state he's made part of his Western comeback plan.

The race was called for Sanders by the Associated Press.

Idaho seemed like promising ground for Sanders, who has generally benefited in states with predominantly white electorates.

Neither the Sanders nor the Clinton campaign devoted much spending toward the state with Sanders spending less than $100,000 the week of the caucuses. Clinton, meanwhile, did not spend any money over that period.

Idaho has 27 delegates, which it awards on a proportional basis.
