Happy new year. Two things:


1. Personal: Stu, Xander and I were planning on going to DC for President's Weekend (Feb 15-18). Is there any opportunity for WH or VP's house, or Congress tour tickets?


2. Professional: I'm on the board of Illinois Mentoring Partnership, which is an affiliate of MENTOR. MENTOR is convening the National Mentoring Summit on Jan 23-25th in Washington. MENTOR has a distinguished board and the Summit has the support of many members of Congress (see attached). MENTOR invited your Dad to be the keynote speaker (see attached). I understand that the CEO of MENTOR, David Shaprio, met with White House execs from Michael Strautmanis' office (Special Advisor to the President?) and John Kelly from the Corporation for National and Community Service. Both of them were using their contacts to get this invitation to Vice President Biden's Chief of Staff, Bruce Reid. I am also aware that Robert Andrzejewski from the Delaware Mentoring Council and Peter Hart and Geoff Garin from Hart Research (wired pollsters in DC) said they were close with the office and would get the letter to Bruce. I am not sure if they were successful in getting this to Bruce.

Beau, if your Dad is not able to speak, would you be willing to speak? MENTOR has a great State Mentoring Partnership in DE that most likely you are familiar with.

Also, the CEO of MENTOR would like you both to be his guests at the dinner on Jan 23 in the Great Hall of the Library of Congress (invitation attached).
