Dear Sidwell Friends School Parents:

You are invited to a conversation on the topic of campus security at Sidwell Friends School. We will meet next Tuesday, January 29, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Lower School Meetinghouse on our Bethesda campus at 5100 Edgemoor Lane. Light refreshments will be served.

This topic is always top-of-mind for school administrators, but recent events have brought it to the fore for parents in schools everywhere. Every school employs a unique blend of strategies and practices to safeguard students and teachers. Generally we try to keep these plans in the background, but now is the right time for us to engage in a school-parent conversation about our particular approach to this issue.

The three principals, Shereen Beydoun, Sally Selby, and Lee Palmer, and I look forward to seeing you next Tuesday at Lower School.
