Hey Friend – I wanted to take a moment to give you a quick update on what our team has been up to on the ground in NE Iowa to build a campaign that will finally send a voice for hardworking Iowans to Washington.

Alright, now I want to let you know about some exciting things happening with Abby’s campaign.

First, we just picked up AFSCME Council 61’s endorsement, and we’re damn excited about it! Getting an endorsement from AFSCME this early in the race is a huge deal – they have 40,000+ members in Iowa and do an amazing job of turning those folks out in elections. You can read the full endorsement here, but I think President Danny Homan summed it up best.

“Now more than ever we need a fighter with Abby's background, backbone, and experience taking on anti-worker GOP policies in Washington.”

The endorsement comes on the heels of endorsements from EMILY’s List, the Dubuque Building and Construction Trades, UA Local 125 and more than 20 Democratic Party leaders in the less than 3 months since Abby kicked off her campaign. Click here to check out the full list.

We also announced an impressive amount raised during our first report to the FEC. In just 2 months, more than 550 people chipped in more than $155,000 to our campaign to send Abby to fight for them in Congress. It’s a number we’re proud of, and that Abby is especially thankful for, but we know it’s going to take a lot more than that to take down Rod Blum and his corporate-backed campaign’s war chest.
