Fleetwood Mac is a band that “operates on one’s imagination in a way few other bands can.” That line wasn’t written in 1977 at the height of the band’s powers. It was written about an hour ago by Billboard’s Fred Schruers. This is a rock and roll group that is timeless.

I’ve been mesmerized by the “Big Mac” since I was about 9 years old. It’s almost indescribable what their music means to me—it just sounds like home. Maybe that’s because my parents played it nonstop in our house. Maybe it’s Stevie Nicks’ incomparable voice or Christine McVie’s incomparable voice, or Lindsey Buckingham’s. Or maybe it’s that they crafted the perfect California sound—one that can’t be eclipsed.

Rolling Stone recently put out a list of the top 50 Fleetwood Mac songs. This is number 2, and it is one of their best performances ever captured live.
