Hi, it’s time for a quick update from C_TEC. I appreciate your involvement in our program– together, we are making great progress for tech policy!


June was a busy month for C_TEC, we published our first report on the economic benefits of data centers, participated in the White House technology week and this week testified before Congress on autonomous vehicles. We also had very productive meetings with our working groups and the planning for TecNation 2017 has begun.

On June 20th, I joined a listening session at the White House during the administration’s Technology Week. The topic was policy issues such as tax reform and technology’s role in modernizing government. Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin, National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn, and Director of Strategic Initiatives Chris Liddell all participated in the meeting. I believe there are significant next steps for C_TEC’s engagement.

On June 27th, I testified on self-driving vehicles in front of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection. My

testimony included the importance of a regulatory environment that promotes innovation and safety and emphasized the Chamber’s views on avoiding a patchwork of regulations at the state level.
