Dear Hunter,

I just got back from my first trip to Washington, DC, and I have to tell you: it was amazing. I was so honored when Seth invited me to join him for Tuesday's State of the Union address, but the biggest honor was why he asked me: because of my work with AmeriCorps.

I've been working with the North Shore's Food Project <http://thefoodproject.org> for just about five years, and have been coordinating youth volunteers for the Food Project since joining AmeriCorps in September. It is such an amazing opportunity to serve the community and give back to others, and I've loved every minute of it. Seth and I both hope that we can make more service opportunities available to young people across the country, and I am proud to stand with him in supporting broader national service.

While the state of our union is indeed strong, we have a lot of work still to do. I'm excited to work with Seth to move our district and our country forward, and I hope you are too.
