White House communications director Hope Hicks, one of President Donald Trump's longest-serving aides, plans to resign, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Wednesday.

Her announcement came a day after she declined to answer many questions during an appearance before House Russia investigators. Earlier this month, she also was drawn into the controversy surrounding former staff secretary Rob Porter, who she had been dating and who resigned amid claims of physical and verbal abuse from his ex-wives.
