[http://org2.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=e8ZajDEf7xeJDw%2BhAzJTkn5qYtCdfxyK] Dear Friends, The Truman Project is proud to have over 800 veterans as part of our community. Today we take the time to remember the sacrifice and service of the men and women who put on the uniform of their country. We veterans, and our families who stand with us, are honored to uphold a legacy of service which reaches back to the founding of our nation. For many of America’s newest veterans, today holds special meaning as President Obama keeps his commitment to end the war in Iraq by year’s end. The past three years have been host to a renewed focus on veterans, wounded warriors, and their families. From the passage and reform of the GI Bill and initiatives to address the scandal of veterans homelessness, to yesterday’s passage of the veterans jobs bill, we have seen a strong focus on getting veterans the services they earned and the support they deserve. More than anything, most veterans want to continue to serve their country in some capacity. For some, it means law enforcement, for others, work in government, or elected office. For most, it means the chance to contribute to the continued growth and strength of the nation they pledged to defend. On this Veterans Day, we thank those who have served, and continue to serve, in support of the values which made America strong. Sincerely, Justin Ford Veterans Director Truman National Security Project Justin Ford is the Veterans Director of the Truman National Security Project. From 2001-2004, Justin served in the US Army as an Airborne Combat Engineer. -- Aubrey Menard Truman National Security Project 1050 17th Street, Suite 375 Washington, DC 20036 Phone: (202) 216-9723 x305[tel:%28202%29%20216-9723%20x305] Cell: (413) 835-5784[tel:%28413%29%20835-5784] ---------------------------------------- Remove my name from all future email correspondence Opt out[https://bos.etapestry.com/prod/optOut.do?databaseId=TrumanNationalSecurityProje&jobRef=3146.0.84807691&principleRef=3146.0.56659986&email=hbiden%40rosemontseneca.com] Address postal inquiries to: Truman National Security Project 1050 17 Street, NW Suite 375 Washington, DC 20036 Powered By eTapestry - www.etapestry.c
