This year, I am grateful for my family, friends, colleagues, and the men and women of our armed forces. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=2>While we all have much for which to be thankful, I believe it is especially important in these challenging times to remember that too many Pennsylvanians deal with deep financial hardships. Approximately 13% of our state’s citizens lived below the poverty line last year, and far too many Pennsylvanians live in the shadows of financial worry. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=2>My fundamental goal as State Treasurer is to improve the economic security of Pennsylvanians any way I can. With that goal in mind, let me use this message to remind you (and your family and friends) that the McCord Treasury offers <SPAN><A href="http://t.lt02.net/q/ls36Q-qTbgxgTICRFcbkHGlUaZMp-dtU-mlMy8IRApFXJW8Gmf1IOBFns"><FONT color=#0000ff>resources</FONT></A></SPAN> to help improve your personal finances, save for college, find short-term loans to avoid predatory lenders, and plan for retirement. For all of this and more, please check our website, </FONT><A href="http://t.lt02.net/q/TNKLu8tRt4vqP139Khx4XqL-YBaC87kZ8STpDv1YhCGBy0iGGcP1AxKNN"><FONT size=2>www.patreasury.gov</FONT></A><FONT size=2>. The site is designed to provide news you can use and easy-to-deploy tools to help you find resources. The site offers a tool to search for unclaimed property; you and/or your friends and family may be among the estimated 1 in 10 Pennsylvanians who have money or property waiting to be returned.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=2>Beyond what Treasury offers, the Commonwealth provides additional programs that can help eligible Pennsylvanians save on <SPAN><A href="http://t.lt02.net/q/ctmR7Kx4T5i6xzA5_Nr5DjyWsvCHKGFoKwcJQizJ6HOSSWmGP9xz1q_Zt"><FONT color=#0000ff>prescription medication</FONT></A></SPAN>, receive rebates on <SPAN><A href="http://t.lt02.net/q/xteFRP0rwAgOzDgJLZN0rsqHpR47P95GPUMUWgjQ37Z-KypGyiFjYULBt"><FONT color=#0000ff>property taxes or rent payments</FONT></A></SPAN>, and pay their <SPAN><A href="http://t.lt02.net/q/HgawC8EbvwmLqksBYWNSgbUkT09l8-7-8sUg41hBjl_kOsoGpJIhoGYIg"><FONT color=#0000ff>home heating bills</FONT></A></SPAN>.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=2>The holiday season is an opportunity to help those less fortunate. If you or someone you know could benefit from one of these resources, please share with them this message.
