The Senate on Tuesday night passed the biggest overhaul to the criminal justice system in decades, marking a win for President Donald Trump and a bipartisan group of advocates seeking to ease mandatory minimum sentences for some drug-related crimes.

The bill, which passed by a 87-12 vote, now heads to the House where it is expected to be easily approved.
