CP Parents - Just our luck, I received this email below yesterday from Dave
Ries who runs the Holy Cross tournament on 11/20.


Hey Brad,


I hope all is well. My apologies but we unfortunately have to cancel the
2016 bracket for next week's New World tourney. We had teams pull out and
hedge on commitment and we don't want to combine any age groups.


We would like to know if any of your girls may want to play with the Jackals
2015s next week at the Terrapin Fall Classic? If so, Diana Lowery (copied)
can provide you with details.

Ugh!! So, obviously this is very disappointing. Especially after our hard
fought victory yesterday!! I wanted you all to know ASAP, and I have
requested more info on the tournament at College Park that Dave inquired
about. My understanding is that this tournament is a strong one where many
college coaches attend to look at players for recruiting. The team he has
offered to us is the Jackals 9th grade team. Caitlin Banks, our old coach,
is coaching this team and so she knows our girls. I have asked how many
players they are looking for and any info on the tournament schedule. I will
send you more info as I get it. Please let me know if you think your
daughter might have interest in playing in this alternative tournament.


STEPS Game: As I have told many of you already, I felt yesterday was our
best victory of the season. It was nice to see the girls dig down and
respond when they were down at half and when STEPS made a run in the second
half. They played like the victory mattered!! It was great to see their
focus and emotion on the field and sideline thru the entire game. This team
is better than they have been playing this season, and we all saw glimpses
of our potential yesterday! Thank you to all of you who made the effort to
get your girls there.


I will report back on the tournament.
