When Luis Alberto Moreno’s presidency of the IDB ends in 2020, the Bank must set strategic priorities for engaging in LAC. How will the IDB tackle new challenges in the region given limited resources? The IDB has a good reputation with local stakeholders and governments and has a great opportunity to leverage its strengths through knowledge-sharing and technical capacity-building. In terms of key areas for development, the IDB should focus on a few key areas:
1. Private sector inclusive growth
2. Quality infrastructure
3. Governance and the fight against corruption
4. Regional security and stability
5. Productivity and innovation

This timely report explores some of the Inter-American Development Bank’s major successes and offers recommendations for future leadership on how to efficiently manage the Bank’s partnerships, investments, and priorities.
