EMAIL DETAILS

Nice to know you were thinking of me! I will take the day off tomorrow and
cook turkey, stuffing and the various fixings. Though you can't find
proper sweet potatoes so will need to make do with canned yams which just
are not the same, and no fresh cranberries unfortunately. I did find
canned pumpkin at the gourmet store which was nice because it's such a
pain to get it out of a real pumpkin. David is the better cook generally,
but I somehow carved out a special thanksgiving niche when we first got
married (that and pancakes/big weekend breakfasts). Usually he and the
kids get the day off school, but for some reason Ambrit decided not to
make it a holiday so it will be just me and a full day to shop and cook,
which will be a nice change. My friend Sara and her 10 yr old daughter are
coming over for dinner since they're on their own so that will make it
extra festive. I do miss having the larger family around during these
special days, and Thanksgiving and 4th of July are my faves.
