Friends & fellow Archmere alums, Good evening. I hope that this note finds you well and that you and your families enjoyed a wonderful celebration of Thanksgiving. I feel that I am way behind in getting this email circulated (it seems that running late is the only exercise I am getting recently) - but I am hoping that it is never too late to spread this annual Christmas message of hope. The girls and an army of kind-hearted friends, classmates and teammates have embarked on another season of caroling activities on behalf of Make-A-Wish. Their efforts continue to inspire others to get involved. This year our parish school (St. Anastasia) - where the girls first started this effort - is again hosting a series of fundraisers in support of Make-A-Wish, including a 7th & 8th grade Dance for Wishes on December 16; my former grade school - St. Edmond's Academy (where my nephews Paul & Damian Andrisani and Godson Wyeth Anzilotti are currently enrolled) - is instituting a Make-A-Wish Week (December 12-16); and some local high schools have signed up to perform in the Christmas Village in Philadelphia's Dilworth Plaza during the weekend of December 17-18) (students and faculty from Archmere have participated in this event for the past few years but had a conflict this year). Notwithstanding these exciting additions to the carolers' annual fundraising efforts, they and Make-A-Wish need your help and support more than ever. Unfortunately, despite great progress in technology and medicine, the demand for and cost of wishes continues to grow each year. Your kindness and generosity over the years in support of the carolers have made it possible to make a wish come true for more than 20 children battling with serious illnesses. We hope you can continue to support the carolers, Make-A-Wish and the brave children who are the beneficiaries of your kindness and generosity. This year, for your convenience, we have set up a webpage where you can make donations on-line (where you can also see pictures from the first caroling event last night outside the ACME grocery store in the Newtown Square shopping center). http://site.wish.org/site/TR/FriendsandFamily/Make-A-WishPhiladelphiaNorthernDelawareandSusquehannaValley?px=3446632&pg=personal&fr_id=2351. I hope you will take a moment to share the link to our Make-A-Wish fundraising webpage with anybody that you think may be interested in making a child's wish come true this year. I hope you can help us spread this message of love, hope and recovery to a much larger audience this year so that collectively we can raise more money, help more children and do more good. I also encourage you to open and read the attached flier that provides more information about the carolers' remarkable story and the power of a wish. We will of course accept donations of checks or cash if you wish to mail it to me at the address listed in the flier and below. Thank you again for all of your love, friendship and support of our family and the carolers over the years - and for all that you do to make this world a better place. Wishing you and your family all of the love, peace and joy of this Christmas season. I will look forward to seeing, speaking with you, texting you and/or otherwise catching up with you over Christmas - and to seeing you more often in 2017. Finally, the schedule for the caroling performances in Dilworth Plaza is pasted below in case you or someone you know is looking to make it into Center City Philadelphia in advance of Christmas and want to add the caroling in the Christmas Village to your/their to-do list in the city.
