Wilder's suggestion
to dump Biden didn't
deserve the attention
it got

This story making the rounds about former Gov.
Douglas Wilder suggesting President Obama dump
Joe Biden as his running mate in 2012 for Hillary
Clinton is a waste of paper, computer space and
oratorical effort. It just doesn't work that way
anymore in Washington.

Besides, Biden is a valuable asset to Obama, despite
his occasional verbal gaffe, which the national
media just sits by and waits for, pencils raised.

You don't really think Obama and his staff didn't
know about Joe Biden's tendency to step in it from
time to time before they picked him as number two?

In addition, Wilder has never been considered part
of the national Democratic insiders' club.

The national hype given Wilder's comments in a
column that appeared in Politico reminds me of the
recent spate of media reports of shark sightings
along the East Coast, including the latest one of a
blue shark that inadvertently got up on the sand at a
New Jersey beach. (Excuse me, shore.)

There have been a total of three [T-H-R-E-E!]
documented attacks of humans by blue sharks, one
fatal, according to Wikipedia.

Wilder's political astuteness record is even worse.
And he has no political fatalities to his name.
