Hi Folks,


Did you think you were free from my emails and solicitations during
August? Not so fast.


Next Wednesday eve, August 11th, I am proud to co-host a fundraiser for
Reshma Saujani, a good friend and candidate for Congress in Manhattan.
Now, to be clear, this money is for a democratic primary race held in
September, in the 14th Congressional District (which encompasses large
parts of Manhattan, particularly portions east). I don't have a
personal problem with the incumbent (Carolyn Maloney) but I don't think
she holds a candle to the brainpower, passion and will of Reshma. I've
known Reshma well since my stepfather's campaign in 2003 - when she
founded "South Asians for Kerry" and have been lucky enough to share
membership with her at the Council on Foreign Relations. She's a force
of nature - Second generation American with a degree from the Kennedy
School and Yale Law who has worked in politics and finance. She has the
potential to become a great leader for New York - much as well as a
change agent within the Democratic Party. I know this must resonate with
some of you.
