Iowa Supreme Court Upholds Expanded Voting Rights for 2018 Elections

Woah, R. Hunter Biden. A few weeks ago we got word that the Polk County District Court put the brakes on some big portions of the dangerous GOP voter suppression laws going into effect this year.

But we just learned that the Supreme Court upheld this ruling -- which means a few important things for voters:

Voter ID numbers are not needed to early vote
Voters can vote in 2018 without showing an ID
Early voting is still 29 days -- voting starts on Oct. 8th!

This is SO great -- but I'll be honest, it throws a wrench in our Organizing Plan because we had not been expecting such a huge victory.

We need to make some adjustments to our Organizing Plan ASAP to reflect the new laws.

Our democracy is strongest when all voices are heard. Today's ruling is a step in the right direction toward protecting voter rights in the 2018 election. Now we have to do our part to help as many voters as possible make it to the polls.
