View this email in your browser (https://mailchi.mp/emkinstitute/summertime-news-from-the-kennedy-institute?e=a502dc0f35) EXPLORE THE NEW BIPARTISAN KENNEDY INSTITUTE POLL: AMERICANS SPEAK ON THE U.S. SENATE (https://www.emkinstitute.org/resources/kennedyinstitute2018poll) The Institute’s third national survey found a disconnect between voters and their United States Senators. Voters express dissatisfaction with the performance of Congress and a desire for senators who are responsive to the people they represent. At the same time, the data points to an American electorate that lacks basic knowledge about the U.S. political system. https://www.emkinstitute.org/resources/kennedyinstitute2018poll But there are encouraging notes, too: Americans across different political parties are aligned on the top issues facing the United States and believe that senators working together to find common ground is key to progress. Further, Americans express keen motivation to vote in the upcoming elections, value increased diversity in senatorial ranks, and demonstrate high levels of civic engagement.
