Hi team -- I wanted to make sure you saw Lara's message below.

Every month our goals get higher and higher, and every month we need to do even more to run a campaign you can be proud of -- a campaign that can share Fred's vision to get Iowa growing every day, while also pushing back and correcting the cherry-picked personal attacks Reynolds' campaign is throwing our way.

But we simply can't do that without your help, and August has been a little rough for us. I'll be blunt: our fundraising is down, and I'm not going to lie -- I'm worried.

We're officially past the mid-way point of August, team, and I wanted to give you an update on our budget track.

I don't like sending you this note any more than you like reading it -- seriously, I always feel like I'm delivering the bad news. It's not fun to be the bad guy. But it's my job to make sure you know where we're at and ask you to help us catch up when we're falling behind.

More than half way through the month we're only 27% of the way to meeting our grassroots goal, and if we keep on this track we won't be able to hit the benchmarks we need to succeed in the coming months and turn Iowa blue in November.
