<li>The internet outage on campus over the weekend had no effect on the submission of materials to colleges.</li>
<li><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">All materials</span></em></strong> from Sidwell’s College Counseling Office has been electronically submitted as of yesterday. This includes student’s transcript, College Counselor and Teacher Recommendations, Sidwell School Profile.</li>
<li>Student is responsible to submit application, essay, and application fee and standardized test scores.</li>
<li>It usually takes colleges 1-2 weeks for a college to process all of these submissions – so do not be alarmed if an applicant’s portal indicates that something has not been received in the next week or so.

<li><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">1<sup>st</sup> Quarter Grades</span></strong>

<li>If a college requires 1<sup>st</sup> quarter grades the applicant will be notified by email. (It is very important that students check their email regularly.) The CCO will reiterate this message in workshop.</li>
<li>If a student receives an email requesting 1<sup>st</sup> quarter grades from a college, the student comes into the CCO to meet with their college counselor and the CCO will submit the 1<sup>st</sup> quarter grades.

<li>A student is always welcome to periodically email (not harass or bombard) a college admissions counselor with updates on grades, their continued interest or on anything new to report. A student should not go overboard on communication.

<li><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">What’s Next?</span></strong>

<li>Next week during workshop, the CCO we will start discussing and planning the next step. Many students have applied Early Decision/Early Action and will be notified on or around December 15<sup>th</sup>. (Please note: UVA, University of Michigan and University of Maryland typically notify in the middle of January.)

<li>Students need to log in the additional schools they plan to apply to with their college counselor <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">before or on Friday, December 2<sup>nd</sup></span></strong>.
