With your help we have secured $150 million in the Senate for life-saving emergency food assistance. But, as you know, the need is great and without $580 million to sustain critical food assistance programs millions of people affected by disasters will be left without food. </font></p>
<p><font face="Arial"><font size="2"><strong>We are building momentum!</strong> Last week Politico published an op-ed in which Friends of WFP Board Member and former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger <a href="http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?a=ddJILLMjFeJIIVK&s=hhIPL1MFL9LPIYPxHmE&m=9iLMJZMBIdLWJhJ" target="_blank">made the case for additional resources for emergency food assistance</a>. </font></p>
<p><font face="Arial"><font size="2">"Failure to address global hunger not only leads to needless suffering and loss of life, but also threatens U.S. national security and regional political stability.” </font></p>
<p><font face="Arial"><font size="2">We need your help in spreading this message to Congress. Providing emergency food assistance is not only the right thing to do, but it’s also the smart thing to do. It will help create a more peaceful and prosperous world for us all. </font></p>
<p><font face="Arial"><font size="2"><strong>One last chance to help!</strong> The House will be making a final decision in the next few days on how much money to spend on emergency food assistance which gives us one last chance to make a difference! </font></p>
