We have held several discussions with Rick over the last week since his
return from Africa and I am delighted to report that we have reached an
agreement in principle for Rick to become our new CEO. Details of the
contract are still being worked out but the major pieces - - including
compensation - - have been agreed to. Rick is extremely excited about
the new challenge and sincerely appreciative of the Board's strong
support. Once the contract is signed, we will let you know and Friends
will make an official announcement. It is our intent to get the
contract drafted, signed and a public announcement made within the next
week to ten days. Prior to a public announcement, we will let Josette
and her team at the WFP know of the decision as well as the staff at
Friends. We would appreciate you keeping this confidential until an
official announcement is made. We will send you the press release once
it is ready to go.
