I would like to introduce you and Beau (when he's ready) to David
Schwartz, CEO of Q-linx. David is the son of Ira Schwartz, CEO of
Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, and a friend of mine.

Q-linx has pioneered the use of data mining for risk assessment and
decision support in several areas such as crime recidivism prediction,
child abuse prediction/classification, elderly care risk assessment, and
employee recruitment/retention risk assessment.


Founded as a result of research and development conducted by Q-linx CEO
David R. Schwartz, and subsequently tested at the University of
Pennsylvania and Temple University with faculty from social policy,
criminal justice, engineering, and computer science disciplines. A
growing number of performance studies have shown that risk assessment
and decision support accuracy can be greatly improved with the right
combination of data mining techniques and multi-disciplinary
collaboration. Data mining techniques use statistics and high powered
computer programs to recognize important patterns and variables in an
organization's databases and complimentary data (e.g., national
datasets, government datasets, etc.).


Q-linx risk assessment solutions are sold and supported by IBM's Global
Social Segment -- colleagues from both companies are currently working
together to develop a risk assessment solution for the New York Office
of Children and Family Services.
